My name is Jillian Sullivan.  I am a college admissions consultant dedicated to helping applicants shine.  I work with high school students exploring all college options as well as transfer students or working professionals seeking admission to graduate school.

The college choice process is an individual one, and I understand that.  My goal is to get to know you, including your life experiences, academic abilities, aspirations and expectations for the years ahead.  From there, I intend to make myself available to you as you navigate the application and decision-making process.  My services are customizable and unique to each client’s needs and I look forward to working with each and every client.

As for my background, I worked at New York University for seven years and Boston University for four years in various capacities. My last position at New York University was as an Associate Director for Academic Affairs in one of the most highly sought after academic departments at the University, the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication. Before that, I worked for NYU’s esteemed Courant Institute in both the Math Department and the Computer Science Department.  During my undergraduate days, I worked as a Senior Office Assistant at Boston University and a peer advisor, assisting students, prospective students and parents in the college choice process.  Furthermore, I have worked in admissions on both the undergraduate and graduate levels and I understand what colleges are looking to see in an applicant.  As for my education, I have a bachelor's degree in Film from Boston University and a master's degree in Higher Education from NYU.

What services are available?

Again, all services are customizable.  Depending on how early you team up with me, I can offer you assistance with any of the following:

  • Course and extracurricular planning to make you a viable and shining applicant

  • College lists

  • Overseeing and organization of application matterials

  • Essay development and editing

  • Planning college visits

  • Deciding which college to choose

What makes my services unique?

As a higher education professional, I understand the ins and outs of the college selection process as well as the expectations students have for their college experience.  I will work tirelessly to provide support by way of in-person meetings or via methods more relevant to today’s wired generation of students (that is, Google documents, skype conversations, email or text messages).  I take my role very seriously and will remain accessible to students from start to finish.  I understand that this is a stressful process for some, but I can make it an organized and exciting time for parents and students!

Please note that while I am currently available for one-on-one meetings in Manhattan or Brooklyn, I can assist you with virtual counseling or essay development or editing if you are not in the tri-state area.  This would mean more Skype/iChat meetings and correspondence via email.
