Why do I need a college admissions consultant?

There are more than 4,000 colleges and universities in the United States and with so many options to choose from, the college choice process can seem overwhelming.  Not to mention, the average public school counselor is responsible for 300+ students each year and most have little time to assist you with one-on-one admissions counseling.  With me, you’ll receive one-on-one support as you navigate deadlines, requirements and processes.  I will also help you plan visits, speak with current students, identify important administrators and determine relevant faculty based on your interests.

Why should I choose Jillian?

Imagine working with a higher education professional that has 10+ years experience in admissions and will offer you admissions consulting completely tailored to your needs--that’s me!  I will work with you on a timeline and will offer flexible scheduling (especially, nights and weekends).  I am happy to make myself available to you and provide support through both traditional methods (face-to-face meetings and phone calls) or the more high-tech route (Google docs, Dropbox, email, text, etc.).  Additionally, I care about your success and I am eager to help you plan for the future!  I will be your co-pilot through the entire application process!

When should I begin thinking about the application process and meeting with you?

Students can seek me out at any time, but most students begin the college counseling process during their junior year of high school.  Freshmen and sophomores in high school who seek my services can use me a resource to plan their high school courses, establish extracurriculars and build relationships that may bolster their applications.

Is it worth it financially?

Should you choose to work with me, you are eliminating extra costs and the elements of uncertainty that are associated with applying on your own.  Lack of knowledge about colleges and their deadlines, the cost of books and supplemental resources, and being subject to little or no counseling at your high school, could have you kicking yourself in the end.  With me, you are receiving full support and reliable access to a counselor with a wealth of knowledge about the higher education industry, and an individual who cares about your acceptance at the school of your dreams.
